DIRECT COMPRESSION - LOW DOSAGE - IMMEDIATE RELEASE - FAST DISSOLVING TABLETS

This particular excipient was developed in the framework of NPTAB® Technology. These particles are prepared by a spraying process, allowing to produce pellets with defined technical properties. Mechanical characterization established NPTAB® ability to direct compression :

· Specific Surface area

Surface area : 0.15 - 0.20 m²/g (vary with particle size)
High surface area available for the active coating

The high surface area permits efficient formulations for API's high doses.

· Flow property

Due to its spherical shape and homogeneous distribution size and texture,
NPTAB® particles coated or not exhibit free flow properties.

Flow time < 10 s

· Compressibility
NPTAB® (coated with active or not) exhibit a very good compressibility.
NPTAB® is a directly compressible excipient.


· Tablets cohesion

Thanks to the plastic behaviour and the high specific area of pellets, tablets of NPTAB®
exhibit good cohesion properties.
